Description
The tide had turned, and the tide was coming in. It's a signal to a lot of shorebirds and gulls that the food is on the table, and it's time to eat. Different sandpipers have different methods for taking advantage of this time, but sanderlings are probably the most entertaining as they run in get what was freshly brought in after each wave. That means they have a very short amount of time to eat and run before the next wave gets them. This sanderling is intent on finding something before it has to run.
