Artist's Description
I needed a change of scenery so I went to a conservation area I hadn't been to for several years, and I had only gone once, mostly because it's a bog, and I'm not a fan of mosquitoes. It's still a little early for the little flying pests so it was an enjoyable walk that started with a pair of Mallards in a small pool that was fed by the overflow of the larger pond area. My guess is this spot is often dry, but we've had a lot of rain lately, and water levels are high. As soon as I showed up, the Drake headed away from me, across the pool, and his lovely mate followed. So glad they did; they went right through this lovely spot on the water.

I grew up in Kansas, just outside of Kansas City, and while some might find the endless rolling plains to be boring, I love the open space and fantastic sunsets. I have since lived in Minnesota, Rhode Island (briefly), New Hampshire, and now reside in Massachusetts. Most of my photos were taken in New England.
