This Mute Swan paddled toward me when I walked down to the edge of the water. I was hoping it was looking for a free meal and not looking to warn me off. I am happy to say I didn't have to run back up the stairs I took to get to the water. I had a chance to take a few shots before it realized I came empty-handed, and I was happy to see it holding its wings out in such a beautiful display.

I grew up in Kansas, just outside of Kansas City, and while some might find the endless rolling plains to be boring, I love the open space and fantastic sunsets. I have since lived in Minnesota, Rhode Island (briefly), New Hampshire, and now reside in Massachusetts. Most of my photos were taken in New England. I started taking pictures around the age of 10, borrowing my dad's point and shoot to document my adventures during a trip to Colorado with close family friends.
