I have a cat that always looks a bit crazy; it's because of her eyes. She is a bit crazy but not all of the time. If you don't know her, it can be a little unsettling. Hooded Mergansers have a similar issue, and once again, it's all about their eyes. In this case, the quick exit from camera range only adds to the look of total fear in this female's eyes.

About Linda Bonaccorsi
I grew up in Kansas, just outside of Kansas City, and while some might find the endless rolling plains to be boring, I love the open space and fantastic sunsets. I have since lived in Minnesota, Rhode Island (briefly), New Hampshire, and now reside in Massachusetts. Most of my photos were taken in New England. I started taking pictures around the age of 10, borrowing my dad's point and shoot to document my adventures during a trip to Colorado with close family friends. My love of animals and all of God's creation has inspired me ever since. There are so many details to discover outdoors, from bees collecting nectar to the great expanse of mountains and oceans.
