When seen in a still photo like this, it looks like the leaves are suspended in glass. They're not, but they are surrounded by and moved around by the flow of the water in this small stream. While numerous Fall leaves floated by, a few remained trapped in this area, creating a temporary vignette.

I grew up in Kansas, just outside of Kansas City, and while some might find the endless rolling plains to be boring, I love the open space and fantastic sunsets. I have since lived in Minnesota, Rhode Island (briefly), New Hampshire, and now reside in Massachusetts. Most of my photos were taken in New England. I started taking pictures around the age of 10, borrowing my dad's point and shoot to document my adventures during a trip to Colorado with close family friends.
