I was watching this young Red-tailed Hawk in a tree off in the distance. As I watched, it flew off its perch, headed in my direction, and swooped down not far in front of me in an attempt to grab a squirrel. It missed, flew across the trail, over the canal, and landed on this branch. I was too slow on the draw and missed the swoop, but I was happy with getting off a few shots on this branch.

I have since lived in Minnesota, Rhode Island (briefly), New Hampshire, and now reside in Massachusetts. Most of my photos were taken in New England.
