Artist's Description

Yes, this Dahlia had saturated color in person, and it was a show stopper for this lover of saturated color. What a beautiful combination of red, pink, purple and yellow! As I look at this, I can't help but feel grateful we decided to go out to the Berkshires for a couple of days. It was a decision we made just about a week before going, and we learned while we were there that the Bridge of Flowers, in Shelburne Falls, would be closed down after this season until 2025.

I grew up in Kansas, just outside of Kansas City, and while some might find the endless rolling plains to be boring, I love the open space and fantastic sunsets. I have since lived in Minnesota, Rhode Island (briefly), New Hampshire, and now reside in Massachusetts. Most of my photos were taken in New England. I started taking pictures around the age of 10, borrowing my dad's point and shoot to document my adventures during a trip to Colorado with close family friends.
