Description
While there are exceptions to the rules, one of the differences between moths and butterflies is that moths generally rest with their wings open while butterflies generally rest with their wings up. That can make butterfly photography a bit frustrating at times. This Tiger Swallowtail was opening and closing its wings as it fed on the flower nectar. While I might have only caught a glimpse of these beautiful open wings, I love that the camera gives me the opportunity to really take in all the detail.
Image photographed in Massachusetts.
