I bought a new camera, and I started noticing what looked like brush strokes in some of my water pictures. At first, I thought it was because of slow shutter speed and the movement of the water, but I realized as I was taking pictures on this day that I could actually see the "brush strokes" as I was looking through the viewfinder. What a fun discovery!

I grew up in Kansas, just outside of Kansas City, and while some might find the endless rolling plains to be boring, I love the open space and fantastic sunsets. I have since lived in Minnesota, Rhode Island (briefly), New Hampshire, and now reside in Massachusetts. Most of my photos were taken in New England. I started taking pictures around the age of 10, borrowing my dad's point and shoot to document my adventures during a trip to Colorado with close family friends. My love of animals and all of God's creation has inspired me ever since. There are so many details to discover outdoors, from bees collecting nectar to the great expanse of mountains and oceans.
