Artist's Description
Freezing temps alone do not guarantee great ice. That's my unsolicited "professional" opinion as a self-proclaimed ice judge. We finally hit freezing temperatures around here so I went for a walk with the hopes of finding a bit of ice since everything is bare and brown around here (snow coming tonight though). I found what I hoped for, and this is one of the shots I came home with. This is a color photo, but the ice was mostly sheltered from much light. The light that did hit it reflected beautifully.

About Linda Bonaccorsi
I grew up in Kansas, just outside of Kansas City, and while some might find the endless rolling plains to be boring, I love the open space and fantastic sunsets. I have since lived in Minnesota, Rhode Island (briefly), New Hampshire, and now reside in Massachusetts. Most of my photos were taken in New England. I started taking pictures around the age of 10, borrowing my dad's point and shoot to document my adventures during a trip to Colorado with close family friends. My love of animals and all of God's creation has inspired me ever since. There are so many details to discover outdoors, from bees collecting nectar to the great expanse of mountains and oceans.
