If you're a birder, you'll recognize this little shorebird, at Mass Audubon's Allen's Pond, as a semi-palmated sandpiper. If you're not a birder, you'll think this is a cute bird on the beach. You'd both be right, and you'd both be entertained watching it feed along the beach, sometimes, getting caught off guard as a wave comes in a little further than expected.

I grew up in Kansas, just outside of Kansas City, and while some might find the endless rolling plains to be boring, I love the open space and fantastic sunsets. I have since lived in Minnesota, Rhode Island (briefly), New Hampshire, and now reside in Massachusetts. Most of my photos were taken in New England. I started taking pictures around the age of 10, borrowing my dad's point and shoot to document my adventures during a trip to Colorado with close family friends.
