We had a friendly visitor along the path. It came closer to take a look at us and to take advantage of the dry berries on its perch. It gave me several looks in between grabbing and eating berries. Mockingbirds and their relatives, the Gray Catbird, are inquisitive birds, making them fun subjects to photograph. This one was still perched when we walked away.

I grew up in Kansas, just outside of Kansas City, and while some might find the endless rolling plains to be boring, I love the open space and fantastic sunsets. I have since lived in Minnesota, Rhode Island (briefly), New Hampshire, and now reside in Massachusetts. Most of my photos were taken in New England. I started taking pictures around the age of 10, borrowing my dad's point and shoot to document my adventures during a trip to Colorado with close family friends.
