Artist's Description

If rocks could talk! This is Cedar Brook Trail in Taconic State Park in New York. It is just down the road from Bash Bish Falls in Massachusetts. My husband and I decided to try this trail, and I managed to lead us off trail for a while. I was trying to be positive, but I was starting to worry what I thought was the trail was too difficult and dangerous. After a check of my gps trail map, we discovered the error and spent most of our remaining climb up zig zagging back and forth across Cedar Brook. It was a lovely forest stream with lots of mini falls and lots of moss-covered rocks. If the rocks don't say anything, then no one will never have to know about our little detour.

I am particularly fond of birds, and I share a love of birding with my...
