How many species of dogwood trees are there? Anybody? I have no clue, but this spring it has become clear to me that there are quite a few. This particular dogwood had petals ranging from mostly chartreuse to mostly pale pink. There was a lovely softness to it.

I grew up in Kansas, just outside of Kansas City, and while some might find the endless rolling plains to be boring, I love the open space and fantastic sunsets. I have since lived in Minnesota, Rhode Island (briefly), New Hampshire, and now reside in Massachusetts. Most of my photos were taken in New England. I started taking pictures around the age of 10, borrowing my dad's point and shoot to document my adventures during a trip to Colorado with close family friends.
