This small island was a short stop for me after spending time at another beach not too far away. I found a group of sanderlings feeding and made myself comfy sitting on the rocky beach. As I waited for the sanderlings to walk my way, I started watching the waves come in, and realized the water was putting on as much of a show as the shorebirds.

I grew up in Kansas, just outside of Kansas City, and while some might find the endless rolling plains to be boring, I love the open space and fantastic sunsets. I have since lived in Minnesota, Rhode Island (briefly), New Hampshire, and now reside in Massachusetts. Most of my photos were taken in New England. I started taking pictures around the age of 10, borrowing my dad's point and shoot to document my adventures during a trip to Colorado with close family friends.
