A walk in the woods was all I needed to convince me that autumn has taken its place. While many trees are still green, the forest floor tells a much different story, with shades of gold and orange. Large areas covered with ferns have exchanged their green for this gold that glows in the filtered sunlight. There is a warmth to the fall colors despite the fact that it means it's getting colder.

I grew up in Kansas, just outside of Kansas City, and while some might find the endless rolling plains to be boring, I love the open space and fantastic sunsets. I have since lived in Minnesota, Rhode Island (briefly), New Hampshire, and now reside in Massachusetts. Most of my photos were taken in New England. I started taking pictures around the age of 10, borrowing my dad's point and shoot to document my adventures during a trip to Colorado with close family friends.
