I had an unexpected visitor on my bike ride. The bike usually kills most of my chances at bird photography, but I rode past this Eastern Kingbird on the fence, and at the last minute, decided to pull over. I got off one shot before it headed to a nearby tree. Thinking that was it for me, I started to head back to my bike, but the handsome king graced me with his presence by landing on the fence closer to me. He seemed to be curious about me. What a treat!

I grew up in Kansas, just outside of Kansas City, and while some might find the endless rolling plains to be boring, I love the open space and fantastic sunsets. I have since lived in Minnesota, Rhode Island (briefly), New Hampshire, and now reside in Massachusetts. Most of my photos were taken in New England. I started taking pictures around the age of 10, borrowing my dad's point and shoot to document my adventures during a trip to Colorado with close family friends.
