Summer would not be complete without a dragonfly image, now would it? Like so many things this summer, drought has had a big impact on the number of dragonflies I've seen this summer. This was taken the day after it rained, and I was thrilled to see numerous dragonflies in the area around the pond. Loved how the light reflected off the water in the background on this shot.

I grew up in Kansas, just outside of Kansas City, and while some might find the endless rolling plains to be boring, I love the open space and fantastic sunsets. I have since lived in Minnesota, Rhode Island (briefly), New Hampshire, and now reside in Massachusetts. Most of my photos were taken in New England. I started taking pictures around the age of 10, borrowing my dad's point and shoot to document my adventures during a trip to Colorado with close family friends. My love of animals and all of God's creation has inspired me ever since. There are so many details to discover outdoors, from bees collecting nectar to the great expanse of mountains and oceans.
