Well, this piping plover went from trying to figure out where the sound of my camera shutter noise was coming from to making itself small in the sand in a matter of seconds. I left with my telephoto lens right after this so this cutie could get back to what it needed to do...eat. I saw it still busy eating on the return part of our beach walk. We continued without bothering it, and ended our walk with our version of dinner on the beach. I'd like to think our dinner tasted better.

I grew up in Kansas, just outside of Kansas City, and while some might find the endless rolling plains to be boring, I love the open space and fantastic sunsets. I have since lived in Minnesota, Rhode Island (briefly), New Hampshire, and now reside in Massachusetts. Most of my photos were taken in New England. I started taking pictures around the age of 10, borrowing my dad's point and shoot to document my adventures during a trip to Colorado with close family friends.
