Don't you just want to touch it? It looks so soft and silky, and if I understand what I read correctly, this is the actual flower of American Burnweed, and the flower is attached to its seeds. And like most "weeds", this is an herbaceous plant that has health benefits and can be used in cooking. Can we all agree that the negative connotation for weeds needs to change?

I grew up in Kansas, just outside of Kansas City, and while some might find the endless rolling plains to be boring, I love the open space and fantastic sunsets. I have since lived in Minnesota, Rhode Island (briefly), New Hampshire, and now reside in Massachusetts. Most of my photos were taken in New England.
