If you're a flower person, you'll laugh at my admission that I just learned that this is a variety of Black-eyed Susan. How have I lived this long and not made this connection? This must be the fancy version of our Plain Jane Wallflower variety, which, by the way, I think is equally beautiful in its simplicity. Both varieties have a wonderful way of saying, "Summer."Image photographed in Rhode Island.
