If you're a flower person, you'll laugh at my admission that I just learned that this is a variety of Black-eyed Susan. How have I lived this long and not made this connection? This must be the fancy version of our Plain Jane Wallflower variety, which, by the way, I think is equally beautiful in its simplicity. Both varieties have a wonderful way of saying, "Summer."

I grew up in Kansas, just outside of Kansas City, and while some might find the endless rolling plains to be boring, I love the open space and fantastic sunsets. I have since lived in Minnesota, Rhode Island (briefly), New Hampshire, and now reside in Massachusetts. Most of my photos were taken in New England. I started taking pictures around the age of 10, borrowing my dad's point and shoot to document my adventures during a trip to Colorado with close family friends.
