My husband and I went to the Berkshires for vacation. One of the local attractions was the ruins of Ashintully Gardens. The ruins themselves were up the hill above the more naturalized garden area, and they were surrounded by overgrown paths. I don't know what happened to the structure, but what is left is slowly being claimed by the surrounding forest. This opening appears to lead to nowhere, but I love the sense of peering into a secret trail through the forest.

I grew up in Kansas, just outside of Kansas City, and while some might find the endless rolling plains to be boring, I love the open space and fantastic sunsets. I have since lived in Minnesota, Rhode Island (briefly), New Hampshire, and now reside in Massachusetts. Most of my photos were taken in New England. I started taking pictures around the age of 10, borrowing my dad's point and shoot to document my adventures during a trip to Colorado with close family friends.
