I believe this is a Woodland Sunflower. It might not be as flashy as some of the bigger varieties, but it packs a punch when it comes to brightening my day. There are a few patches of them that grow right next to the bike trail, and this patch was a good reason to stop and take a few shots. Image photographed in Rhode Island.
