Artist's Description
I believe this is a Woodland Sunflower. It might not be as flashy as some of the bigger varieties, but it packs a punch when it comes to brightening my day. There are a few patches of them that grow right next to the bike trail, and this patch was a good reason to stop and take a few shots.

I grew up in Kansas, just outside of Kansas City, and while some might find the endless rolling plains to be boring, I love the open space and fantastic sunsets. I have since lived in Minnesota, Rhode Island (briefly), New Hampshire, and now reside in Massachusetts. Most of my photos were taken in New England.
