I took a walk with a four-year-old who thought our time in the woods was boring. She did, however, enjoy watching the birds at the feeder when we were back at the building. What can I say? It takes time to appreciate the less obvious beauties in the woods like this wonderful arrangement of lichen! I love all the tonal nuances and the different textures. Image photographed in Rhode Island.
