Artist's Description
While this Black-crowned Night Heron has been pretty tolerant of me during previous sightings, I didn't have a place to pull me bike over that was out of sight, on this day. As a result, all the commotion that comes with parking and getting off the bike, assembling my camera, and walking over put my feathered friend on guard. It didn't fly off, but it did walk up this log and under some overhanging branches where it preened itself and occasionally peeked under to see if I was still there. Hint taken; I rode on.

About Linda Bonaccorsi

I grew up in Kansas, just outside of Kansas City, and while some might find the endless rolling plains to be boring, I love the open space and fantastic sunsets. I have since lived in Minnesota, Rhode Island (briefly), New Hampshire, and now reside in Massachusetts. Most of my photos were taken in New England. I started taking pictures around the age of 10, borrowing my dad's point and shoot to document my adventures during a trip to Colorado with close family friends.
