Description
I may have missed my best chance at catching the spring warbler migration, but this barn swallow just made my day. It continued to preen itself as I took pictures and slowly moved closer. This was just a quick glance before continuing its feather maintenance. It was on a metal railing on a boardwalk, and that depth of field effect is completely natural. I barely touched this series of images in the editing process.
Image photographed in Massachusetts.

Wonderful capture of this beautiful Barn Swallow. They were a nightmare to us a couple of years ago when they built their nest on our front porch.
Linda Bonaccorsi replied:
Yeah, they're fierce defenders of their nests. Hope you had a back door you could use. Thanks Marcia!

Excellent close up image and capture. We had some on our porch a couple of years ago that would not let us even get anywhere near our own front door. Beautiful bird. L/F
